McDonald's sued for racial discrimination in Virginia
Allegations of sexual and racial discrimination have led ten former employees to sue McDonald’s in Virginia’s federal court. One Hispanic
and nine African-American former workers claim that franchise operator Michael
Simon started hiring white employees and firing African-American employees
shortly after his hire in 2013 as a plan to “get the ghetto out of the store”. McDonald’s
maintains that these allegations go against the restaurant’s values and
reputation.
